Annual Statistical Summaries
During 2022, Heather’s Foster Dogs took in 47 dogs. Outcomes: HFD adopted out 50; 1 elderly dog with multiple organ system failure was humanely euthanized. At the end of 2022, 14 dogs were being fostered in HFD members’ homes.
During 2021, Heather’s Foster Dogs took in 35 dogs. Outcomes: HFD adopted out 27; 4 dogs were humanely euthanized to relieve their suffering from end stage illnesses. At the end of 2021, 18 dogs were being fostered in HFD members’ homes.
During 2020, Heather’s Foster Dogs took in 75 dogs. Outcomes: HFD adopted out 66; 5 puppies brought on transport were lost to Parvo contracted before reaching HFD; 5 older dogs were euthanized to relieve suffering from end stage of illnesses. At the end of 2020, HFD had 16 dogs in foster care.
During 2019, Heather’s Foster Dogs took in 79 dogs. Outcomes in 2019: HFD adopted out 82 dogs; 1 dog was euthanized due to complications from an enlarged heart; 1 dog was euthanized with end stage Lyme disease. At the end of 2019, HFD had 17 dogs in foster care.
During 2018, Heather’s Foster Dogs took in 119 dogs. HFD adopted out 109 dogs, 1 was transferred to another group, 1 was returned to the owner, 1 puppy died of parvovirus & 5 were euthanized at the end stage of illnesses. At the end of 2018, HFD had 22 dogs in foster care.
At the beginning of 2017, Heather’s Foster Dogs had 21 dogs in our care. During 2017, HFD took in 94 dogs & adopted out 93. Two puppies died of parvovirus. HFD closed 2017 with 20 dogs in foster care.
We began 2016 with 10 dogs in foster care. During the year, we transferred in 125 dogs. Heather’s Foster Dogs adopted out 110 dogs & 2 dogs were returned to owner. As of 31 December 2016, we had 21 dogs in foster care. Two dogs were pulled from area shelters, fostered as hospice cases & died in loving homes.
As of 31 December 2015, Heather’s Foster Dogs had 11 dogs in foster care. During the year, we transferred in 86 dogs. Heather’s Foster Dogs adopted out 86 dogs & 1 was returned to the owner. As of 31 December 2015, 10 dogs were in foster care. 1 puppy died of systemic infections & 1 dog was euthanized for aggression toward people & other dogs.
