The adoption fees in most cases do not meet the significant expenses we incur to rescue the dogs in our care, costs such as veterinary exams, treatment & surgeries, vaccinations, heartworm & flea preventative, deworming, microchipping, food, etc. When you adopt a dog from Heather’s Foster Dogs, you aren’t “buying” a dog – your adoption fee not only goes toward the care HFD gave your adoptive dog, but helps to make it possible for us to further our mission of rescuing dogs and placing them into forever homes.
(cash or check only; sorry, no credit/debit cards)
Adoptable Dogs have been in their foster homes for at least a 2 week evaluation period. They have had initial evaluations by our veterinarian & recommended follow up exams; they have been spayed or neutered, microchipped & made current on age appropriate vaccinations recommended by Heather’s Foster Dogs’ veterinarian as well as up to date on heartworm & flea preventative.
